FRIDAY

Westwood Memorial Cemetery and Hammer Museum Tour
Host: Linda Kime

Want to see Marilyn Monroe’s crypt in person? Are you curious as to who is buried next to her?
You’re invited to our free Westwood Memorial Cemetery Tour for Friday Feb.14th at 11 AM!
1218 Glendon Ave., LA, CA 90024
See the graves or crypts of such Hollywood stars as Dean Martin, Don Knotts, Rodney Dangerfield, Farrah Fawcett, Ryan O’Neill, Merv Griffin, David Nelson, Walter Matthau, Jack Lemmon, Janet Leigh, Natalie Wood, Roy Orbison (in an unmarked grave), Peter Falk and more!
Directions to the Westwood Memorial Cemetery: From the 405 Freeway, take the Wilshire Exit East. Get one lane to the left of the right lane.  At Glendon turn right (South) and pass the skyscraper on the SE corner of Glendon and Wilshire. Just past that skyscraper is a driveway on the left headed East. Take that driveway. It splits. Veer to the right side of it. You’ll be in the cemetery and behind the Westwood Public Library!
We can meet near the little churchlike building (not mausoleum) on the S. side of this rectangular cemetery. (This is a small cemetery so it’ll be easy to find.)
Next we can go the Hammer Museum which is free!  The Museum is a little bit West on Wilshire on the North side of the street. Parking is $8 for 3 hours if available. We can meet in the lower lobby at noon.  The Hammer Museum is also home to the Billy Wilder theater. Admission to its movies have been free for the last few years thanks to an anonymous donor. It is part of the UCLA film and television archive which is the second largest archive of its type after the Library of Congress. They have family children’s matinees periodically, and curated programs that can last for several weeks which of course change over time. And they have guest speakers, such as Rod Serling’s daughter or the director or actors in some of the films.
For more info, you can email Linda Kime at: timeforkime@yahoo.com. You can text Linda Kime at (818) 720-0394 or call her (although sometimes there are problems with her voice mail).
See you there!
