Music Hall

June 16 @ 2:30 pm

We will watch the 1927 silent film WINGS with Clara Bow and Charles “Buddy” Rogers.   If you have never been here before, it’s quite fun.   There will be live accompaniment by Donnie Rankin on the Mighty Wurlitzer.   They normally have a short first before the main film, and sometimes a sing-along.  Wings was awarded the first-ever Oscar for Best Picture in 1927, featuring spectacular aerial photography and a memorably sweet performance by Clara Bow. It’s a crowning achievement of the silent-era. This is a rare opportunity to see the film with live accompaniment — just as it was experienced by audiences in 1927.  Tickets are $20, and it is suggested to buy a ticket ahead of time on their website, because they do sell out.   https://oldtownmusichall.org/.   When selecting your seats online, try for rows M, N or P and seats 5 through 8 so that we will be sitting close to one another. Contact Sue Barr at 310-381-9761 (text preferred) for more info on any of these three events or if you want to let me know you are coming.
