Welcome to my new event where we will be exploring the various restaurants at the western end of the GLAAM region- Calabasas, Agoura, Westlake, Thousand Oaks, Malibu, Simi Valley, and Moorpark. We will sometimes be doing Woodland Hills, as that place has a bunch of good ethnic restaurants we don’t want to miss, and also be going as far west as Ventura. But first up is Brent’s Deli in Thousand Oaks/ Westlake. This offshoot of the classic Northridge deli features all your favorite Jewish comfort foods- matzo ball soup, potato knish, corned beef on rye, etc.  After the demise of Jerry’s and other popular delis, this is one of the few remaining good ones in the Greater Los Angeles Area. Brent’s is located at 2799 Townsgate Road in Westlake Village/ Thousand Oaks. Exit at Westlake from the 101 and it is just south in the block with the Hyatt.
